All in a Day's Work...

Ever wonder what we do on a daily basis?  Through rain, sleet, snow and even on holidays our volunteers are out there everyday feeding the feral cat colonies in Bordentown to make sure they survive the harsh elements.  Here are some pictures taken by one of our volunteers on Christmas Eve... Of course, feeding all of these colonies 365 days a year comes with a substantial price tag, so if you would like to help support our efforts, you can now donate easily online through Paypal .  And because we are now officially a registered 501c3 organization, your donation will be fully tax deductible. Best wishes for a happy and healthy New Year from all of us at Bordentown City Cats!

UPDATE:  We are so happy for Cinderella...she is starting off the new year in her new forever home after being abandoned by her previous owner this fall. A fairytale ending for our little princess.  PREVIOUSLY: "Cinderella" came to us at the end of November after some concerned residents in Fieldsboro contacted us.  Apparently she and her brother had been kicked out into the cold by their previous owner with winter and the holidays bearing down on us.  Concerned neighbors were kind and caring enough to take them in and reach out to us and they are now resting nicely with one of our foster volunteers.  She is fixed, fully vetted, healthy and appears to be only a few years old. If you or someone you know is interested in giving Cinderella the fairy tale ending she deserves, please contact us at:  (E) btowncitycats@gmail.com or (P) 609-324-3896 .

UPDATE: Santa was a little late in delivering on Marilyn's Christmas wish, but after a few rough months she has finally found her forever home and we couldn't be happier! Thank you to everyone who helped spread the word. PREVIOUSLY... Dear Santa: Don't you just want to cuddle with me? Thank you for helping my friends Fred and Prince Charming find homes for the holiday.  They are both very excited and that got me thinking…if you have any free time between now and Christmas, maybe you could help me find a “furever” home too? It’s been a tough year and I might not have survived if it hadn’t been for the kind employees at Dr. Rosso’s office.  They found me on the street when I was hungry, pregnant and covered in dirt and took me in and called Bordentown City Cats. Since then, I’ve been cleaned up, checked out and I’m in great shape now.  At the risk of bragging…I’m quite adorable, if I do say so myself, and very petite for a fully grown girl.  My pic

UPDATE:  Prince Charming has found his forever home just in time for the holidays and we couldn't be happier for him! PREVIOUSLY: "Prince Charming" came to us last week after some concerned residents in Fieldsboro contacted us.  Apparently he and his sister had been kicked out into the cold by their previous owner with winter and the holidays bearing down on us.  Concerned neighbors were kind and caring enough to take them in and reach out to us and they are now resting nicely with one of our foster volunteers.  They will be going to the vet this week to be checked out, but they appear to be healthy and only a few years old. "Prince Charming" If you or someone you know is interested in giving one of them a forever home, please contact us at:  (E) btowncitycats@gmail.com or (P) 609-324-3896.

Sam was first thought to be feral when she came to us, but we since found out she's very sweet and friendly and would make the perfect addition to someone's home. And that's exactly what has happened to this little beauty...she is resting comfortably in her forever home as of this week!

UPDATE:  we are happy to say these little guys found the new homes they deserve! PREVIOUSLY: This breaks our hearts and we are trying to do all we can to help Sylvester and Tweety.  These two  sweet brothers are in need of a new home because their owner is moving and cannot take t hem with her.  Tweety Sylvester They are around 9 years old and in  great health. They have claws but have never wreaked any thing.  They use a  litter box well and have never had an accident. They are also great with  dogs and children.   If you would like to come to the rescue and open your heart and home to them, please contact us at:  (E) btowncitycats@gmail.com or (P) 609-324-3896 .

UPDATE:  After quite a long time of searching for forever homes for this brother and sister duo, we are happy to report that both Fred & Ginger have found new families to call their own! PREVIOUSLY: Meet Fred & Ginger, this loving brother/sister duo. Both were originally adopted as eight week old kittens from Bordentown City Cats several years ago, but then in a sad twist of fate, the living arrangements in their home changed, making it impossible for their family to keep them and they were surrendered back to BCC earlier this year. Freddie & Ginger when they were frightened upon arrival at their foster home Fred & Ginger now - adapted, loving and social We tried our best to find them a new home together, but it's much harder to find someone looking to adopt two cats so now we are willing to separate them if need be.  Luckily, they have both adjusted well to living apart in foster homes.  But now it's time to find Fred and Ginger the forever

UPDATE:   Fingers crossed, but after numerous different attempts, we think we may have finally found Jellybean the nice, quiet home that is perfectly suited for him! PREVIOUSLY: Some of you might remember Little Ricky as Jellybean, the emaciated little boy we rescued off Walnut Street a few months ago.  He was warming up nicely to the family of one of our volunteers, showing a hearty appetite and putting on weight.  Alas, we thought he had found the happy ending he deserved.  Sadly, it turns out he is not comfortable around other cats.  The friction was impacting his health and we had to relocate him to the home of another volunteer where there are no other animals and things are much calmer...and guess what?  He's doing fantastic!  He is even more loving and desiring of affection than before. What this means is we are looking for a quiet, permanent home for him with no other animals, perhaps a senior or a single person.  So, if you or someone you know fits th

UPDATE:  We are happy to report that handsome Hemingway had great success at this year's National Adoption Weekend at PetSmart and he is now resting comfortably in his new home with his new parents who are just over the moon about him!  Thank you Sonya & Dustin!! PREVIOUSLY:  Adorable Hemingway was found lonely and crying for attention down at Bordentown Beach roughly two months ago. It was clear from the onset that he was not a feral cat as he quickly started crying for affection when our volunteers stopped by to handle daily feedings. Sadly, our gut tells us he was abandoned down there. We were able to easily scoop him up and get him to the vet and he has been neutered and given a clean bill of health. The vet believes he is between 1 1/2 - 2 years old so he still has a long life ahead of him. He is already fitting in nicely and getting along great with the other cats at his foster home. All this cute boy wants is to be loved! And the reason we named him

UPDATE:  Both Bert and Alice have found the loving forever homes they deserve and we couldn't be happier! PREVIOUSLY: Usually we get inundated with kittens in the summer, but little Bert and Alice are the first we've rescued all season, which is hopefully a good sign that our TNR efforts in Bordentown City are working to keep the cat population down. Bert (black) and Alice (tabby) were rescued from Prince St about a month ago and are believed to be about 13-14 weeks old now.  They are fixed, up-to-date on shots and very sweet and friendly.  If you or someone you know are interested in adopting them, please contact us at:  (E) btowncitycats@gmail.com or (P) 609-324-3896.
